If you have a domain registered through a domain host, you can link it to your Cargo Site by changing its DNS configuration.

To point a top-level domain, like, to Cargo, set the domain to use Cargo's nameservers:

This support article shows an example of what this process looks like. The interface used to set a domain's nameservers will vary from service to service.

Note: If you have pre-existing services attached to your domain, like email or third-party file hosting, changing your nameservers will make them inaccessible. If you want to continue using those services, you will need to manually copy your DNS zone records from your current domain host through Cargo's DNS editing interface.

To point a subdomain, like or, change the DNS CNAME record for your subdomain to point to Cargo's subdomain URL:

Note: Use this record as-is; it should not be changed to your Cargo site URL.

Once your domain has been configured, enter it inside your Cargo Admin: → Use a Personal Domain → Use an existing domain or subdomain → The domain is already configured.

If you're having trouble making these changes to your domain on your own, Cargo offers a free Domain Configuration Service.
